What about kids?

Our vibrant church family has a large range of events and programs for your kids to become involved in.

Saturday Mornings

Every Saturday morning at 9.30am we have more than 100 children participating in age specific groups and activities (a little like a Sunday school). The weekly children's groups contain songs, crafts, quizzes, games and Bible stories. Kids have heaps of fun learning about the Bible and God's love for them.

Classes include:

  • Beginners (for infants 0-2.5 yrs - parents welcome)

  • Preschool (ages 2.5 - 5 years)

  • Lower Primary (grades K - 1)
  • Upper Primary (grades 2 - 3)

  • Juniors (grades 4 - 6)
  • Teens (grades 7 - 10)

  • Youth (grade 11 up to age 25 years)

At 11am families are encouraged to join us for a combined worship service. Young children are welcome and are often catered to through a children's story or children's music (during the program).

Saturday Afternoons

Approximately one Saturday afternoon per month (and the odd whole weekend) is filled with extra activities for children aged 5-16 years. These activities are broken into two main groups, Adventurers (5-9 years or final year of preschool to year 4) and Pathfinders (10-16 years).

Adventurers aims to strengthen the parent-child relationship and to further your child’s spiritual, physical, mental and social development. Kids can learn Christian values, experience the joy of doing things well, learn good sportsmanship and people skills and use their God-given abilities to benefit themselves and others. Visit the Adventurers page to see more about the club and see a schedule of upcoming events.

Pathfinders is a program similar to Scouts that is designed for 10-16 year-olds to socialise and develop life skills. Run by trained and committed leaders of the church, Pathfinders participate in a range of activities, including:

  • abseiling

  • canoeing / kayaking

  • camping

  • hiking

  • mountain bike riding

They also learn to develop important life values such as teamwork, commitment and self-respect. Honour badges can be earned for completing requirements on specific topics in the areas of nature, craft and recreation, and at the end of each year Pathfinder clubs present awards to Pathfinders on achievement of various skills. Click here to learn more about Wallsend Pathfinders.

School Holidays

Once per year Wallsend Seventh-day Adventist Church and Macquarie College run a one week kids club. This program is great fun for all children from Kindergarten to Grade 6. They will meet lots of new friends, moving between each activity in guided groups.
